When it comes to healthy eating, there’s no greater spanner in the works than opening an empty cupboard. To make sure you stay on your best behaviour, you have to prepare in advance, completely avoiding the temptation to head to the chippy. With that in mind, we’ve come up with some tips on preparing your healthy eating regime.
Stock Those Cupboards
First things first: make sure your cupboards are well stocked! Sometimes it’s not ‘boring’ food that drives us to seek a takeaway, but the lack of food altogether. Looking a full fridge will also inspire you when it comes time to prepare dinner.
Start at the Weekend
How often have you got to the weekend and said that the diet starts on Monday? It’s time to eliminate this way of thinking from your life and get started today! By starting your new diet at the weekend, you get into the habit and you can take your time when it comes to preparing new meals.
Shop Little and Often
It’s always great to have fresh food, but by the time you get to the end of the week, you’re all out of fruit and salad, and onto tins of soup and beans. You can avoid this by cutting down on the amount you buy and shopping every few days instead of once a week.
Do it Online
Of course by having to shop more often, you’re giving yourself more opportunities to make excuses. But “I don’t have time to go to the shop,” or “I’m too tired to head out after work,” can be avoided completely by simply ordering your shopping online for delivery. With many supermarkets, you can even get regular orders delivered so you don’t even have to think about it!
