Last time we went through a few things you can do to introduce more healthy activities into a hectic lifestyle. It was so well received that we decided to give you some more tips and tricks! Let us know if you have any techniques of your own.
Socialise While You Exercise
“I was going to go to the gym last night, but it was the only night Dan and Lucy were free so we needed to go and see them instead.”
We’re not saying you should sacrifice your social life, but why not turn fitness into a group event? Attending a class, going for a jog or hitting the gym with friends is just as fun and you’ll be getting fit to boot!
Only got 20 minutes or so at the gym before you have to be somewhere? There are exercises you can combine for a cohesive workout routine in record time. For example, you could go for a brisk walk on the treadmill while doing some bicep curls. Experiment and see what you can come up with.
Turn TV Time in PT Time
The beauty of watching movies and TV shows is that it’s easy to do other things at the same time. So put down the chocolate and sweets and pick up a salad or some rice cakes! Better yet, create a living room routine while the TV’s on; press-ups, sit-ups and star jumps are all fair game! You could even go the extra mile and drag that exercise bike into the front room if you’re really committed.
Do What You Like
While it’s a good idea to get out of your comfort zone once in a while, if it’s keeping you from staying fit and healthy, it’s not worth it! If your diet calls for stir-fry one night, and you’re really not a fan, replace it with something you actually like and will look forward to. Likewise, not everyone is built for or enjoys running; if the thought fills you with dread, hit the gym or go swimming instead!
